Database "KOHD Digital"

This is the database "KOHD Digital" of the research project Union Catalogue of Oriental Manuscripts in Germany (KOHD) of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Since 2016 onwards, the Union Catalogue Project is recording the descriptions of manuscripts in Old Turkish, Arabic, Dravidian, Khmer, Persian, Sanskrit and Tibetan in this database which are owned by the following institutions:

Berlin State Library - Prussian Cultural Heritage,
Hamburg State and University Library,
Thuringian University and State Library Jena,
Bonn University and State Library,
University and City Library of Cologne,
Heidelberg University Library,
Tübingen University Library,
Municipal Scientific Library Mainz,
Württemberg State Library.

In addition to the database cataloguing, printed catalogues as well as studies dealing with specific manuscripts are being published in the publication series Verzeichnis der Orientalischen Handschriften in Deutschland (VOHD). The manuscripts recorded in these printed volumes are usually not described additionally in the database. The Coptic manuscripts of the German collections are catalogued in the database "KOHD Coptica". which is compatible with other papyrological databases.
