Content | Auf der Vorderseite umfassen die Textzeilen /r/1/-/9/ das Ende einer buddhistischen Erzählung, die bisher nicht identifiziert wurde. P. Zieme zitiert aus ihr unter der Bezeichnung "Erzählung von den Drei Goldschmieden" (Zieme (2015b), 398), da der erhaltene abschließende Textteil drei Reiche bzw. Handelsherren erwähnt. In ihrer kurz gehaltenen Charakterisierung spielt jeweils Gold eine entscheidende Rolle. In Zeile /r/10/ beginnt ein neuer Textabschnitt bzw. eine weitere Erzählung eingeleitet durch die Einleitungsformel kim inčip ol. Der Textanfang nimmt Bezug auf Gott Viśvakarman. Nachfolgend werden die vier mahābhūtas erwähnt, Beschreibungen einer mit Blumen geschmückten Stätte, der Vogelwelt und von Wildtieren folgen. In den erhaltenen Bruchstücken der beiden Texte liegt jeweils einmalige Verwendung der Brāhmī-Schrift für Eigennamen vor. Im ersten Text wird der Name des zweiten bayagut in Brāhmī-Schrift angegeben: siddhisa. Im zweiten Text wurde die Brāhmī-Schrift wiederum für die Angabe eines Eigennamens verwendet. Aufgrund der vorangehenden altuigurischen Angabe ist in diesem Fall klar, dass es sich um den Namen des Gottes Viśvakarman handeln muss. Die vorhandenen Brāhmī-Akṣaras ergeben folgende Lesung: viśvaga. Ich verdanke die Lesung der Namen in Brāhmī-Schrift der freundlichen Unterstützung meines Kollegen Klaus Wille. Eine weitere Untersuchung und Kommentierung des Textes muss einer zukünftigen Edition vorbehalten bleiben. |

↳ State of preservation | Nahezu vollständiges, beidseitig beschriebenes Blatt. Geringfügiger Abbruch liegt an den Blatträndern vor. Weitere Beschädigungen liegen in Form von Einrissen und kleinen Löchern vor. Das Papier ist durch Feuchtigkeit stark aufgequollen und durch rötliche Sandablagerungen verschmutzt. Die Schrift ist besonders auf der Vorderseite stellenweise stark verblasst bzw. ganz erloschen. Das Blatt wird unter einer Vollverglasung aufbewahrt. |
